This is my last post for quite awhile, as I'm leaving on my motorcycle tomorrow for three weeks. I've never taken three weeks of vacation in a row ever before. Hell, I just might not come back!  Son and daughter arrived safely on Wednesday. Since then we've been having fun. Yesterday they started their motorcycle class that runs through tomorrow. Daughter has a bonified job offer from a local accounting firm. Son has been hiking and working out. Life is good.

 My son and daughter should be here soon. They left Portland Monday morning and basically drove straight through Canada. Talk about lead foots. Can't wait to see 'em.

I'm back after traveling all week. I left Anchorage last Saturday, and sunny, 65 degree weather, only to drive through a sideways blowing snowstorm after landing in Boise. I actually saw snowplows out and working.

 Then I traveled through Portland where it ws pouring rain when I landed. It lightened up after a day, meanwhile, it was 75 and sunny in Anchorage. Aaargh!

But it's good to be home where they expect another 70 degree day! I took the HD in this morning for service, and I'm waiting for the call saying it's finished. Later.

The neighborhood lake is still frozen, but it's really rotten and close to opening up.

 But the creek is open and snow almost completely gone. The trail (upper right) is clear and dry so I've been getting out quite a bit more lately.

 Nice reaction from Obama on possibly the worst oil spill in the history of the world. All the liberal freaks would be screaming at the top of their lungs if Bush was still there. But, nobody says a word about a nine day delay in response by our superstar President. He makes me sick.

 Saw a great deal on a lightly used Road King last Thursday, problem is, it was in Fairbanks, 355 miles away. So Friday I took off for a roadtrip at about 3:30. After about 200 miles, my cell rings, the guy says he has bad news. Someone showed up with cash and it was sold. 

 So, I turned around and drove back home. That's seven hours and 400 miles of my life I'll never get back.

 We made a little progress on the City Assembly according to early poll results. We voted out one extreme liberal, added a non-partisan, and one other race between a liberal and a conservative is too close to call. That should break the grip the progressives had on the city for the last two years. They had a 6-5 advantage which appears to be swinging the other way.

  Well, this is a little old now, but Lance Mackey was the winner of this year's Iditarod, his record setting fourth in a row! He continues to dominate both by the quality of dogs he's been breeding and in race strategy. Congrats Lance!

OK., I'm not really a huge Iditarod fan, but it's truly an Alaskan race and I like that.

 But I am a Lance Mackey fan, the dude is so humble and approachable, I'd like to see him win his 4th in a row. By the way, that would be a new record. Jeff King is one tough opponent, so are a couple others who are on his tail. A win for Mackey is far from certain, it's really heating up right now.

Well, today is the shortest day of the year and tomorrow we'll start gaining daylight! Yes, this is what I've been waiting for. 

Just 5 hours and 26 minutes of daylight today, but motorcycle season is fast approaching. The next benchmark for me is the Iditarod (which is early March).

Every time president Carter opens his trap, he falls further in his approval poll. Not to mention being the worst modern day President, at least in my life. It's nice to see that President Bush's approval has been steadily increasing since Obama's agenda has failed the country miserably. There's lot's of news coverage on this anniversary of 9/11, as we remember the vicious attacks by radical Islam (who are Muslims!). I just watched the speech from President Bush to the nation and can't help but wonder what the words would have been if it was President Obama making that same speech?

Something like "my fellow Americans, today we had an unfortunate attack on civilians by a small sect of radicals from the east. Let's all take a few moments and ask ourselves what could we have done to avert this misunderstanding? We should also send our apologies to the east for any comments or actions on our part that may have offended them and caused such a violent reaction. Today, I am sending a team of ambassadors to the east to further ease tensions and negotiate a truce between the Muslim community and the Western infidels of the U.S."

Or some rot like that! I believe weak kneed Democrats are laughed at among other nations. I'm tired of image they portray of the United States of America!

I have to travel for a couple days on business. Back on the 9nth, late. Meanwhile, ponder this... Obama wants to spend another 50 billion, plus create a federally funded  infrastructure bank to somehow keep the economy moving in the right direction. My daughter had a hit and run driver at the parkade where she parks while at work. You'd think a building full of executives would be a little more respectable. Ha, probably yacking on a cell phone! Freakin' a-holes. About $350 later, we got it back, the damage was not covered by insurance. 

 Oh, and be sure to read that article I just added to your left. I find it rather strange that Obama is finally now gonna focus on the economy, now that he has let it flounder for 20 months so he could continually blame Bush AND jam his agenda up the ass of Americans who don't want it. Now, even the media is starting to jump off the Obama ship!

It pretty much poured rain all day Saturday, and today they announced the official rainfall at the airport for that day. It rained 1.22 inches from midnight to midnight on the 28th. Wow, seemed like I was in Oregon for a while there.

Obama Administration Misleads Us Again!

 Just a week or so ago, the Obama Administration announced that the oil was pretty much gone. They went so far as to break it down to percentages. I don't recall the numbers, but they were like "16% of the oil was dispersed by chemicals, and 24% naturally dispersed, and...etc...." But, not so fast, today scientists announced the discovery of a 22 mile underwater plume of crude oil. Thebig question is, did they intentionally lie to Americans and falsify numbers, oooorrrr are they totally inadequate and don't know what the hell they are doing?? Personally, I think they lied to us.

Anchorage broke a record yesterday that had stood since 1951. I'm not too thrilled about this record. Yesterday was the 28th consecutive day of measurable rainfall (story) in the Anchorage area. I told you it's been a lousy summer. Friday, I mailed in my primary election ballot. I can assure you that no incumbent got a vote from me.

 My daughter called me last night to announce that she had arrived back in the US! Back safe from deployment in Qatar. No more 100 plus weather, and no more rag heads. She'll be in Ak in a couple weeks. Yeah!
